Behind the scenes of Height Safety Support

iTurning your passion into your work! How do you do that? The driving force behind Height Safety Support has succeeded. What started as a child playing at heights in the Belgian Ardennes resulted in professional mountaineering work with the rescue team in the French Alps. The high mountains have been his second home for years. 

In 2007, Jeroen made the switch from the 'mountains' to the 'industry'. "The idea of 'safety' remains the same and the knowledge as an alpinist and gymnast teacher come in handy for me". Motivating people as a teacher, improvising as a rescue worker and organizing events as an outdoor project leader has helped develop into a professional fall protection specialist. "At All Risk and XSPlatforms I then learned the basic tricks". 

In 2015 Jeroen took the step towards self-employment and founded Height Safety Support. We are now over 6 years ahead and HSS has grown into a leading company in the Benelux in the area of permanent fall protection. Despite the growth, Jeroen is and remains the face behind Height Safety Support and every day he tries to find the best solution for his customers. "As an entrepreneur I have more tasks and responsibilities and I can no longer 'play outside' every day, but I still take care of the supervision and delivery of every project."

So what about the love of the ''mountains'' you may now be wondering? In addition to industrial solutions, Height Safety Support also specializes in permanent alpine installations such as Via Ferratas. The installers are trained UIAA Alpine guides, with an unconditional passion for working at heights. "This ideal combination allows me to truly turn my passion into my work". Also in his free time Jeroen is always looking for a challenge at altitude. From a bike ride in Limburg or the Belgian Ardennes to a Via Ferrata or a hut tour with the family in the Alps - > the mountains are calling!
